program, its talented teaching faculty and unique library. The library archives house the collected papers of Joseph Campbell and James Hillman, among other collections. Pacifica requires a high academic grade point. It also requires extensive community clinical work, an orals exam, a thesis, and a minimum of 50 hours of personal psychotherapy for each graduate. Carol's thesis pursued the legacy of neglect borne by adult children of narcissistic and addicted families of origin, recovery from narcissistic spouses/partners and the adult's journey toward healing. Her professional experience includes community mental health therapy for individuals with severe and moderate mental health challenge, career counseling for graduate students at Northwestern University's Kellogg School, and her private practice. To ensure the highest standard of care and to comply with the requirements set forth by the Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, Carol participates in ongoing clinical supervision, consultation, and continuing education. Currently, she is a Training Candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute, Kusnacht, Switzerland. Ongoing trainings in attachment theory, family systems, dream work, trauma complex, and DBT theory deepen her work. She continues training in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) topics. As a Registered Intern for Licensed Professional Counselor with the Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Carol meets the Board's education and training criteria and is on the path to licensure. A Registered Intern sees clients under supervision of a licensed therapist. Carol works with Dr. James Soliday, D. learning challenges. Often, many had difficulty meeting career, life, or relationship goals. She saw the important difference in the well-being of many when they engaged therapy or counseling, or when their learning disorders received attention from family and trained professionals who understood the interplay between mind, spirit, body, heart and soul. Each person should have the opportunity to best fulfill their individual nature. Each adult deserves the opportunity of becoming more whole and authentic. When that can occur, psychological struggles take on meaning, and suffering can diminish. Difficulties and challenges can be explored as places for growth and transformation. Carol's practice is diversity friendly. |

| A Blessing for Equilibrium Like the joy of the sea coming home to shore, May the music of laughter break through your soul. As the wind wants to make everything dance, May your gravity be lightened by grace. Like the freedom of the monastery bell, May clarity of mind make your eyes smile. As water takes whatever shape it is in, So free may you be about who you become. As silence smiles on the other side of what’s said, May a sense of irony give you perspective. As time remains free of all that it frames, May fear or worry never put you in chains. May your prayer of listening deepen enough To hear in the distance the laughter of God. by John O'Donohue Benedictus - A Book of Blessings http://www.jodonohue.com/ |
